You'll be creating value as you manage and supervise Track, Bridge, & Building Departments to ensure that the infrastructure under your direction is maintained in order to provide safe and efficient service to our customers . Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with your team to support the company’s strategies by insuring that the Track and Bridge & Building Departments continually achieve the performance expectations set forth or at a minimum constantly shows a measurable improvement toward achieving and/or exceeding the following performance expectations.
We’ll look to you to:
- Provide technical track and bridge & building support for the field forces under your direction.
- Provide periodic inspections in accordance with the FTA requirements to meet service needs
- Work with Department Supervisors to identify risk hazards associated with the safe operations of trains.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent management and leadership skills with managers and labor crafts.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively and timely with strong attention to details.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Programs, rail fare collection and customer interface software.
- Knowledgeable with application of new technology to improve safety, and then leveraged to reduce costs improve efficiencies.
- Proven Management Experience and Skills managing rail labor and assisting in the management of subcontract, supplier, vendor contracts to achieve, very high safety, high quality customer service and achieve high 90’s On Time Performance thru the analysis of metrics.
- Ability and prior proven skills in developing and establishing programs, practices, standards and procedures for passenger safety, rule adherence, operating schedules, and training.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in civil, mechanical or related engineering —or equivalent experience-
- 10 years of progressive managerial experience related to the maintenance of track, bridge & building and signaling for a passenger, street car, or light rail system.
- Prior experience that demonstrates accomplishments that enhanced efficiency, accuracy, reliability, timeliness and regarded among peers as a Railroad infrastructure maintenance subject matter expert.
- Knowledge of FRA, FTA, CPUC and other State and local regulations and practices related to the contracted operations, maintenance, and capital work.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
