Alta is seeking a full-time Accountant for our Tampa, FL location (level TBD based on experience).
Position Summary:
General accounting position responsible for ownership of various financial statement areas. Position will provide excellent opportunities for growth and advancement for candidates demonstrating strong work ethic and leadership characteristics.
Responsibilities:
- Produce/review monthly journal entries for various areas of responsibility
- Complete/review monthly reconciliations for areas of responsibility. Assure complete understanding of the activities in assigned accounts. Identify and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Participate in monthly financial statement reviews for assigned entities with finance leadership and operations. Reviews should be completed ahead of time to help lead the discussion of the monthly results.
- Maintain SOX compliance in all areas of responsibility.
- Assist with outside auditor requests for 10-Q, 10-K and Sox Control testing.
- Candidates will have the opportunity to lead ad hoc projects. We are looking for candidates excited about expanding their knowledge base and engaging in growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree
- 3 years’ experience in public or corporate accounting
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Understanding of internal controls and U.S. GAAP
- Ability to communicate effectively across functional teams and interpret a variety of instructions including written and oral
- Ability to analyze and efficiently utilize large amounts of information
- Self-starter with a desire for process improvement and learning
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
