Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary:
Our client in Palo Alto, CA is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
- Build, test and release complex mission critical full-stack applications for internally and externally facing software.
- Design and implement backend code using AWS Services, NodeJS/Python Lambdas, DynamoDB NoSQL databases.
- Design and implement frontend code and algorithms using ReactJS/Typescript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA testing, technical product management and UI/UX design teams to define application features.
- To be part of DevOps activities(based on need) to release the application to multiple environments.
- Use automation as an opportunity to reduce roadblocks and achieve deliverables.
- Ensure good software architecture practices are followed across the team; actively contribute to code and design reviews; perform unit testing to deliver high quality software.
What You Will Need:
Basics:
- 5 years of professional experience as a fullstack software engineer developing custom solutions or applications.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering (Computer Science / Data Engineering / Data Science or equivalent practical experience / experience).
- Excellent JavaScript/ES6, React or other JS framework experience.
- Excellent HTML5, SASS/LESS, Restful APIs, JSON, HTTP experience.
- Proficiency in the following backend languages & technologies: Node.js, Python, GraphQL.
- Proficiency with cloud services: AWS Services, Lambdas, EC2, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, SNS/SQS, StepFunctions, EventBridge.
- Solid understanding of database technology like DynamoDB.
- Great understanding of caching, authentication, authorization, and privacy considerations.
- Unit testing and test-driven development experience.
- Systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience.
- Knowledge of Agile Development of Accessible Software Tools.
- Experience building distributed systems at scale which can handle millions of transactions/second.
- Pay rate: 40-56 USD per hour.
