Responsibilities
The Director of Operations develops and/or supports efforts directed at motivating the field operations team to achieve corporate goals. The Director of Operations also sets the direction for the entire operations team.Responsibilities- Motivates the operations and engineering team to achieve corporate operations and engineering goals
- Identifies and applies best practices or benchmarks of excellence
- Develops and maintains relationships with peer group within the field (Marketing, Customer Care, Sales, Human Resources, etc.)
- Develops and maintains relationships with the local core business operations and engineering peer group
- Participates in corporate meetings to set operations and engineering strategies and goals
- Represents operations and engineering interests at meetings and planning sessions
- Implements corporate operations and engineering strategies and goals
- Ensures corporate and regional operations and engineering strategies and goals are achieved through the effective utilization and motivation of operations and engineering support professionals
- Works with the local training coordinator and Suddenlink Business Services to ensure training needs of the operations and engineering team are met
- Resolves operations escalations as necessary
- Communicates operations issues and solutions to the System as appropriate
- Sets direction for and maintains focus of direct reports
- Conducts periodic reviews with direct reports
- Controls expenses while maintaining or exceeding
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field
- 5 years business background involving operations and engineering demonstrating progressive leadership positions
- Knowledge of communications industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong people management and coaching/motivation skills
- Ability to mentor and assist direct reports
- Administrative and supervisory skills
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong leadership and motivational abilities
- Strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
- Computer skills including Windows based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Ability to read, write and communicate orally
- Ability to use reference materials and prepare and analyze data
- Ability to use a PC, keyboard calculator, fax and other standard office machines
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of structured cabling (Cat. 3, Cat. 5, etc.) preferred
- Bi-lingual proficiency preferred in some locations
