Position Overview: As a Cardiovascular Technologist with expertise in Cardiac Sonography, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities:
Perform cardiac sonography procedures, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), to evaluate cardiac function, anatomy, and blood flow.
Set up and maintain cardiovascular diagnostic equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide real-time imaging support during cardiac procedures and surgeries.
Accurately record and maintain patient records, including images and test results, in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Educate patients about procedures, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort and safety during examinations.
Assist in the interpretation of test results, prepare preliminary findings, and report critical findings to physicians promptly.
Follow infection control procedures and maintain a sterile environment during invasive procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
Participate in quality assurance activities, ensuring the highest standards of imaging quality and patient care.
Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in cardiac sonography through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
Certification in Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) through a recognized certifying body (e.g., ARDMS or CCI).
Current state licensure as a Cardiovascular Technologist or the ability to obtain licensure.
CPR certification and knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse healthcare team.
Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and make critical decisions during procedures.
Knowledge of relevant medical terminology and electronic health record systems.
