What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at Alvarado Care Center?
Qualifications:
1. Possesses Valid California License as a Registered Nurse isssued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
2. Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or three (3) years nursing experince in a mental health setting.
3. Management experince preferred.
Responsibilites:
1. Develops and maintains standards of nursing care.
2. With the Program Director, develops nursing service polices and procedures.
3. Organizes, develops and directs nursing administration and patient care.
4. Responsible for supervision and orientation of all nursing staff.
5. Hires, evaluates and discharges nursing personnel as required.
6. Is responsible for nursing practices for federal, stare and local regulations.
7. With the Medical Director and Pharmacist, establishes procedures and polices for control of medication.
8. Assures proper handling of emergency care of patients, personnel, and visitors involved in accidents on hospital grounds.
9. Responsible for ongoing inservice education of nursing personnel including C.P.R. with the assitance the psychologist and Medical Director.
10. Maintains nursing care hours and other records as required.
11. Ensures unit nursing personnel comply with the facilities policies and procedures.
12. Servers as a voting menber on Quality Assurance Committees.
