Overview
AM LLC is seeking a SQL, DBA to support the Veterans Administration (VA) customer’s enterprise Digital GI Bill instance. Candidates must reside within daily commuting distance to Washington DC or Chantilly, VA. The role will start as remote but has the possibility of changing to working onsite. Due to federal security clearance requirements, U.S. citizenship or a Green Card is required.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of a team that will develop a modern digital platform leveraging cloud-based automation, digital service transformation, human-centered design, world class communications, analytics and other important IT services for the Veterans Administration (VA). The DBA Developer will Administer, develop, test, or demonstrate databases. Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases. Install database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance. Candidate should have experience in AWS, Oracle and Postgres.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
General:
- Understanding of rules and regulations associated with data in secure environments
- Experience planning development efforts and estimating time/resource requirements
- Knowledge in developing and designing databases and data models
- Knowledge of performance tuning and indexing
- Understanding of operating systems and system administration concepts

Qualifications
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years of experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- 2 years of experience with writing complex SQL queries
- 2 years of experience troubleshooting and debugging
- 2 years production level experience in AWS
- 2 years of problem-solving skills
- 4 years as DBA AND Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
