We have an immediate opening for an energetic, passionate & experienced full time professional to join our Finanace team as a SR Accountant.
This position will report to the Director of Finance and responsibilities include preparing internal and external reporting in accordance with GAAP and as required by management, assisting in both the Financial and SOX audits, liaison to business areas, administrates account reconciliations and maintains the general ledger, and other responsibilities as needed.
Position Outcomes / Deliverables:
- Accurate, reliable and reportable information for department analysis for review by executives for corporate decision-making and resource allocation
- Supports the eCommerce business
- Responsible for reconciliation of revenue accounts including credit and gift cards
- Required reports are executed timely, accurately and in compliance with regulations
- Accurate and efficient tracking of financial information for all general ledger accounts
- Timely and accurate books closed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Manage forensic accounting analysis in business development initiatives
- Interface financial information from internal information systems to the general ledger
- Audit the financial integrity of internal information systems used in internal and external reporting
- Develop and delegate financial processes as needed within the finance department
- Manage partnerships in all areas of the business and executive teams
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create monthly, quarterly and annual internal financial reporting packages to company-wide management
- Create all external reporting to parent company and vendors
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Coordinate and prepare audit work papers related to SOC, interim reviews, and annual financial statement audit
- Assist in drafting the annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Support business areas to ensure transactions are recorded properly in the general ledger, including development and review of complex spreadsheets, databases and journal entry uploads
- Ecommerce partnership to ensure all ecommerce transactions are supported and recorded
- Sales Comp reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual income statements used by internal and external entities
- Manage multiple areas of the general ledger: CRM program, eCommerce, stock ledger interface, inventory shrink reserve, accruals from multiple departments, prepaid amortizations, A/R allowances
- Revenue recognition: sales returns reserve calculation, reconciliation or all settlement types
- Maintain Inventory databases for GL interface
- Prepare account reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Audit support for all areas of the business: trial balance support, estimation evidence, selection sampling, key control, walkthroughs, workflow mapping
- Manage currency rates in all internal systems
- Financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum 5 years progressively responsible financial or accounting department experience
- Retail and/or financial services industry experience preferred
- Good understanding of internal controls over financial reporting (Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance)
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to create complex functions and spreadsheet
- Experienced in the application of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experienced in utilizing a financial reporting application (MS Access/Hyperion Essbase a plus)
- Lawson General Ledger Experience
