Position Overview:
As a part-time co-occurring Recovery Coach Specialist at Amare, you'll work out of our St. Clair County office on the Illinois Recovery Center campus, providing vital recovery support to individuals facing substance use disorders and cooccurring mental health conditions. Your role includes recovery coaching, peer support, employment coaching, and facilitating clinical service connections. Ideal candidates possess motivational interviewing skills, recovery expertise, and may assist at other Amare's offices when needed. You may also provide transportation, reimbursed for mileage.
Responsibilities:
- Co-occurring Recovery Support: Offer personalized recovery coaching and peer support at 50% delivery rate, which may include telephone recovery support, addressing substance use that may include mental health challenges when the participant identifies as co-occurring.
- Comprehensive Assessments: Identify unique needs, strengths, and barriers through in-depth assessments, emphasizing cooccurring issues.
- Holistic Recovery Plans: Collaborate on individualized recovery plans considering both substance use and mental health recovery.
- Employment Coaching: Help participants find employment, develop job seeking skills, and access vocational training, addressing cooccurring challenges.
- Linkage to Services: Facilitate connections to clinical services, residential treatment, and essential healthcare, with a focus on cooccurring care.
- Group Facilitation: Lead recovery focused support groups and educational sessions addressing substance use and mental health intersections.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and progress notes, ensuring compliance with cooccurring aspects.
- Stay Informed: Keep up with evidence-based practices, emerging research, and cooccurring trends for high-quality support.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team and partners to provide comprehensive care with a co-occurring focus.
- Ethical Standards: Adhere to professional ethics, confidentiality, and participant safety, particularly in co-occurring contexts.
- Provide transportation when needed to approved Amare participants.
- Conduct Outreach to agencies and organizations to improve relationships and the referral process.
- Coach and support interns, volunteers, and recovery corps members in learning the delivery of recovery support services and the culture of Amare.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Preferred associate degree, or equivalent experience in addiction recovery and cooccurring disorders.
- 2 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment or recovery support services.
- 5 years of lived recovery experience, especially with co-occurring challenges.
