We are currently seeking a Full Time Website Content Editor who will adhere to the aforementioned mission statement, and who will work closely with stakeholders across the college to deliver the best possible digital experience to the end user while upholding brand, compliance, style and SEO guidelines. This includes writing and managing digital content, communicating technical information, advocating for the user, and improving and maintaining SEO best-practices across the domain. This job is located in Amarillo, Texas.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Master’s Degree
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Required: Two (2) years’ of experience creating and managing content for an internal corporate team or an agency working with diverse groups of clients. Extensive CMS experience.
- Preferred: Higher Ed website content management.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Communications and Marketing department and other members of the Web Content Team (Website Project Manager, Website Art Specialist, and Web applications Developer);
- Manage content across the AC site while meeting stakeholder expectations;
- Be an expert on user behaviors and quickly and consistently make content updates that give users the best possible experience on the site;
- Keep content up-to-date through regular, effective communication with all College departments to acquire accurate information to be implemented on the site;
- Communicate complex departmental and curriculum information in a way that the user can easily understand;
- Incorporate SEO data and keyword research into content strategies across the domain;
- Work across teams and departments to strategize and implement SEO content to improve the user journey through the site to accomplish their objectives;
- Write, and edit copy including but not limited to: User guides and FAQ’s, chat bot resources, step-by-step instructions for complex processes including registration, descriptions of academic and institutional programs, blog posts, SEO tags (headers, titles, meta-descriptions).
- Keen eye for details and a strong grasp of English language and grammar;
- Create new web pages and manage existing pages within a content management system, using best-practices;
- Exhibit professional behavior while assisting with the needs of students, faculty, staff, visitors, and co-workers;
- Participate in and complete performance assessments/evaluations as assigned;
- Perform other work related duties as required; and

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, and filing cabinets.
Travel Expectations: Some travel may be required. Must adhere to the Amarillo College Travel Policy guidelines as written.
