- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in related field
- 2 years of professional experience in analytics
- Hands-on experience in writing optimized SQL queries across large datasets
- Proficient working knowledge of data mining using ETL, data warehouse, as well as Excel
- Prior experience with data visualization (Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI, etc.)

Amazon Ads is looking for a Financial Analyst for its Sales Incentive team. This candidate will have a track record of navigating successfully through ambiguity, gathering business requirements and creating BI and analytics solutions that have measurable customer impact for both Sales and Compensation teams. The candidate knows and loves working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimensional datasets, and can partner effectively with business leaders to answer key business questions. The candidate will need to be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and be able to lead a team to innovate and think big, while diving deep to meet our bar for quality and accuracy.
- Work closely with Sales and Comp team to define the data needs and build ad-hoc reports
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, analysis, dashboards, etc. within SQL, Redshift, and QuickSight.
- Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
- Maintain revenue, quota, and compensation data quality
- Support quarterly and monthly compensation processes
The successful candidate must be able to roll-up their sleeves and dive deep to implement effective processes and controls. They will be passionate about their work, detail-oriented, resourceful, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They will have superb communication and partner-relationship skills, deep background in compensation or sales operations, and be a passionate advocate for incentive programs that deliver exceptional results from teams.
- 3 years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analyst role
- Ability to use scripting languages such as Python or R to evaluate data
- Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift
- Project management and execution under hard deadlines
- Proven problem solving skills and sound judgement with regard to unstructured, uncertain problems
