Job summary
Amazon is seeking a Tax Analyst to join the Tax Department and support Amazon’s Consumer business. This position interacts with Amazon’s consumer business and a wide group of related stakeholders.
The candidate must be to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of collegiality, functioning as a tax adviser.
Key job responsibilities
In order to be successful, the candidate must possess the ability to think strategically while also engaging in day-to-day detail. The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to identify and manage tax and execution risks. Additionally, the candidate should have in-depth tax technical knowledge with experience evaluating and advising on business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals.
A day in the life
Every day will be different as you will be working on multiple different projects and initiatives as well as providing ongoing day-to-day support for the Amazon Consumer business. You will be working as part of a team, including transfer pricing pricing and indirect tax specialists, to provide tax advice to our consumer business partners as well as the opportunity to take the lead on initiatives across the wider Amazon Tax group.
Relevant tax experience in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or major law firm. Expertise in international tax planning and strong understanding of or practical experience with tax laws in other countries. Detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated and takes ownership of projects. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on milestone driven projects. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and partner well with people at all levels within an organization, including coaching of junior staff. Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous and rapidly changing business environment.
