This role will collaborate with other Designers, Researchers, Writers, and Marketers to raise the bar of our customer experiences. The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed and has experience leveraging mechanisms to collect customer insights and feedback to help validate design thinking. The successful candidate must be capable of synthesizing a variety of inputs into experiences and designs that customers love. Key job responsibilities • Contributing to, developing, iterating, and building on creative concepts. • Taking design concepts to high-fidelity/production level quality. • Advancing the visual language of the design system (including palette, typography, layout, illustration, iconography, and motion) to ensure consistency at all brand touch points. • Contributing to, implementing, and managing the design system in Figma (components, usage guidelines, documentation) so that other team members can get what they need intuitively and efficiently. • Understanding customer needs and translating them into experience objectives • Translate and scale creative concepts into multiple applications (app, social, display, video, etc) • Contribute to the group’s best practices for UX design while continually advocating design thinking, process, and craft throughout our organization A day in the life • Contribute to design of product website • Design social media posts • Art direct a photo shoot • Flesh out brand expression • Design new icons for the product app • Design packaging About the team This UX Designer role is part of Amazon’s secret project team focused on building new, large-scale solutions aimed at creating positive impact in the world. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Have an available online portfolio
- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs
- Knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and InDesign
- Experience in visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
- Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products
- Visual design and systems thinking expertise, demonstrated through design system documentation/development, mock-ups and style guides, and definition of usage guidelines for components/patterns
