Overview:

The Production Coordinator reports to the Chief Operations Officer and assumes responsibility for managing the resources, budgets, and timeframes for all fabrication projects from receipt of the purchase order to shipment of the finished product. The ideal candidate has a background in metal fabrication, manufacturing or another similar field. To be successful you must possess excellent leadership, communication, attention to detail, problem solving, computer, and analytical skills. Much of the administrative portion of this job to include inventory management, material purchasing, scheduling, etc. to be managed in modern and easy-to-use ERP software system.

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree preferred, but not required
  • Experience working in a metal fabrication/manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role is preferred.
  • Project management experience is preferred

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
  • Must have some working knowledge and experience with equipment common to the welding and fabrication trade (e.g. MIG/Pulse Welders, Waterjet, Plasma, Press Brake, Plate Roll, Shear, Iron Worker, etc.) If there are machines you aren't familiar with, training can be provided
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to effectively work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels
  • Ability to understand and enforce all safety measures and requirements
  • Must be versatile, flexible, and possess the ability to effectively operate in a continuously changing environment
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with project management software and/or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the management of all fabrication projects from receipt of the order to shipment of the finished product
  • Create short and long term production schedules, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Delegate tasks on the projects to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Perform quality control on all projects throughout the production process to maintain the standards expected
  • Anticipate and solve operational challenges
  • Ensure shop workload schedule is followed & provide lead time feedback to appropriate department
  • Schedule, assign and update employee jobs, including daily & weekly projections
  • Lead and supervise team members on day-to-day production goals, activities, deadlines, quality, output and performance
  • Evaluate training and development needs for individual team members
  • Cultivate an environment that promotes individual accountability at all levels plus celebrate individual and team success
  • Identifies and communicates with COO regarding opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Manage inventory and storage of raw materials and finished components
  • Identify shop equipment maintenance requirements
  • Ensure that all required maintenance is being completed as scheduled
  • Monitor quality standards of products produced, with proven understanding of welding, bending, burning, and assembly processes
  • Must understand the operation of press brake equipment, and plasma machines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
