Within the AWS Sales and Marketing organization, the Specialized Sales Operations team is responsible for supporting Leadership, Sales, and Operational teams in achieving organizational objectives and driving continuous improvements in field productivity. We drive effectiveness, predictability, and deliver a “run the business” cadence that allows for the field to serve customers in the way customers want to be served.

The AWS WW Specialized Organization, Strategy & Operations team (WWSO) is looking for a results-oriented Strategy & Operations Analyst to join the Strategy & Operations team that supports Solution Architecture teams across the organization.

The candidate will have strong communication skills, proven data skills in defining, building and scaling analytical insights, strong business acumen, and an innate drive to deliver results. He/she will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Develop global dashboards to support WWSO SA organization and produce insights that are timely, accurate, and actionable. You will also drive operational excellence through optimization of data models.
  • Work backwards from the Solution Architect leaders to gather business requirements & deliver insightful analytics solutions based on key metrics and KPIs for business.
  • Translate business questions into actionable & insightful dashboards, analyses & decks that are intuitive making it easy for the business stakeholders to understand how to action.
  • Own the development and maintenance of new and existing reporting dashboards.
  • Design and implement data models using large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data to produce global intuitive self-service dashboards, visualizations and advanced analyses.
  • Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
  • Build relationships across Amazon, working with other analytics and data teams for insights and best practice sharing.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence and Data Engineering team to drive data requirements and infrastructure design decisions.
  • Invent & innovate through rich visualizations in Tableau/Amazon Quicksight that tell the story of business trends, patterns & outliers.
  • Work in a global environment.

  • Masters Degree in Analytics, Data Science or related field
  • 6 years of Experience in Advanced Data Analytics
  • 6 years of Operations Analytics, Finance Analytics, Business Intelligence
  • Experience presenting analytics insights to Sr. Leadership
  • Advanced expertise in SQL, working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $133,875- $181,125/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
