Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Tech Director to design, build, and operate data platform solutions for the AWS Sales and Marketing organization. The AWS business relies on timely, accurate, and insightful information about our customers' behaviors and our sales field's performance. This position and associated data platform are key to unlocking the full potential
of our business. We are creating new centralized data platform to provide the data processing and consumption needs of our organization. It's a large scale measured in petabytes. We are seeking an experienced leader who can provide the vision, direction and execution required to deliver on this potential.

The leader will have full business ownership, including managing software development, product management, data science, UX, operations, and enablement. The leader will be responsible for setting and driving the vision for the team and execution with internal and external stakeholders and partners. The opportunity is to first test and scale this with AWS, with the goal to externalize in the future. This is a strategic initiative and the project is visible at the highest levels of the company.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal leader will:
  • Bring a think big product vision to re-imagine how go-to-market teams spend more time engaging customers
  • Have the ability to provide hands-on technical leadership to drive execution of that vision to delivery
  • Deliver the change management needed to successfully implement these solutions within AWS, and then externalize for AWS customers
  • Effectively manage large programs, manage stakeholders, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance business needs versus technical constraints
  • Know how to balance competing priorities from a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups
  • Rise to the challenge of delivering innovative customer experiences
  • Be a genuinely inclusive leader, who enthusiastically builds and leads a diverse team spanning those multiple sites (Boston and Seattle).
  • Have 15 years of experience leading businesses - including end-to-end product, development, and GTM
  • Experience in sales and marketing software
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Experience building and running SaaS products
  • Organized individual with great attention to detail and focus on quality
  • A self-motivated individual; a good team player
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up-like environment
  • Excellent communicator
  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
