Job summary
AWS FinTech team is looking for a highly motivated program manager to partner with our stakeholders in building out financial and operational systems for the global AWS business. The success of these systems will be instrumental to AWS's ability to scale for a fast growing and increasingly complex global organization.
This position will play an integral role in ensuring the systems are accurate and support the right financial and business analysis for the global finance organization. This role will support and enable the development and automation of revenue planning processes to deliver automation solutions that improve planning efficiency and accuracy.
This position requires a proactive, highly motivated individual with an aptitude for critical thinking, process improvement, and who can assist in the strategic system development around the globe. This person will be expected to take ownership and drive positive change. The successful candidate will:
- Have strong program management experience influencing and earning the trust of senior stakeholders and moving business teams to take action
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer focused, detail driven, and professional demeanor
- Identify and analyze data to isolate issues, identify metrics to drive improvements, develop solutions and prioritize opportunities for Finance stakeholders.
- Ability to identify patterns across varying processes followed by various finance teams and identify opportunities to standardize and automate such processes
- Be a self-starter, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction maintaining a strong sense of urgency and commitment
- Be a problem solver, able to multi-task, learn, and think about what to do next even in high pressure scenarios
- Have a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced and highly ambiguous work environment with a desire to build structure where there is none
- Be able to partner with stakeholders to build program, capability, and feature enhancement business requirements. Drive business requirement reviews with impacted technology teams.
Key job responsibilities:
- Providing financial analytical support for AWS business teams.
- Assisting global customers across multiple finance and operations teams in driving finance system automation of analysis that provides visibility to manage the business and realize business goals.
- Partner with AWS Finance teams to identify financial and operational improvement opportunities and provide recommendations based on analysis.
- Assisting software development teams in identifying customer requirements, and prioritizing feature requests and goals.
- Robust documentation and communication of projects.
- Continuously evaluating the internal controls over financial and operational performance, and improving them through audits and remediation of deficiencies.
- Ensuring that change management, standardization, automation, scalability, and agility are components of the systems and tools design and development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 Years of project / program management is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain or related field.
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Experience prioritizing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines are necessary skills.
- Experience with SQL and query tools (SQLPlus, Athena, etc.).
- Root cause analysis and complex problem solving skills are important.
- Experience analyzing data and translating business requirements into product requirements.
- A passion for delivering results and building trust with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and manage relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders to drive results.
- PMP Certification.
- 3 years of experience in creating detailed Business Requirement Documentation.
- Experience working with Software as a service (SAAS)/Infrastructure as a service (IAAS) financial operations.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams. ·Proven experience using a variety of business. .intelligence reporting tools (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, Micro Strategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.).
- Experience optimizing for short term execution while planning for long term technical capabilities
- Advanced experience with Excel.
