JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Director of Emergency Care administers, directs, and coordinates patient care activities within Emergency Department and maintains oversight and direction of Infusion Services and The Cardiac Stress Testing Department.
The Director is responsible for recommendation, development and implementation of policies and procedures as well as maintaining documented survey readiness in all the direct report areas.
The Director of Emergency Care reports to the Executive Director of Patient Care Services and is responsible for keeping leadership informed of both progress and potential barriers.
The Director is accountable for all operational aspects of Emergency Services, Infusion Services and Cardiac Stress Testing in collaboration with other service areas within the hospital and clinics.
The Director is responsible for assuring quality measure goals are met or exceeded and for coordination of the emergency and interdisciplinary services needed to assure excellence in patient care.
The Director assures that patient satisfaction goals are met or exceeded in all areas of accountability. The Director will maintain skills and certifications to be prepared to step into patient care when necessary, as dictated by fluctuations in census and acuity.
The Director collaborates with the Manager of Educational Services for validation of the skills and certifications of ED, Infusion and Stress Testing staff.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have 5 years in the Emergency clinical setting.
Preferred prior leadership experience in a trauma designated facility.
Education :
Minimum Required Education : Graduate of an accredited ADN program
Preferred Education : Graduate of an accredited BSN or Bachelor of Healthcare Administration program, MSN or MBA recommended.
Required License and / or Certifications : Active unencumbered Kansas nursing license, Basic and Advanced Life Support, PALS / ENPC, TNCC
Preferred Certifications : NRP
