Observes production machinery and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues to locate causes and repair them. 2. Dismantles machinery and mechanical equipment to remove defective parts; repairs or replaces the defective parts, using hand tools and power tools. 3. Determines and orders appropriate materials and parts needed for service/repair of equipment and facility. 4. Lubricates and cleans machinery and mechanical equipment. 5. Wears all required personal protective equipment. 6. Assures and participates in all plant safety/accident prevention policies. This includes maintaining a safe work environment and follows safe work practices. 7. Maintains housekeeping of work areas. 8. Performs other related duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor. 9. Train current and new members of the department to perform job related tasks as needed. 10. Learn new on the job skills as training opportunities become available. Preferred Requirements · Able to stand/walk on concrete floor in a high speed production facility. · Able to climb stairs/ladders up to 15 feet high. · Able to lift up to 75 pounds. General Requirements 1. High school diploma or equivalent is required - college, technical or vocational education preferred. 2. Previous manufacturing work experience is required. 3. Must be able to read/understand blueprints, drawings, sketches, layouts, and equipment manuals. 4. Must have working knowledge of the functioning of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical controls and be able to troubleshoot them with the aid of a schematic. 5. Must have thorough knowledge of shop mathematics and the use of measuring equipment, IE calipers, and micrometers. 6. Able to read, write, speak, and understand English. 7. Able to work all shifts, required overtime, and short notice. 8. Must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat or bump cap, gloves, steel toed shoes and hair/beard covering. Physical Requirements: · Squat · Reach up and out · Grasp · Pinch · Hand/Finger Dexterity · Walk · Stand · Stoop · Push / Pull · Bend · Kneel · Climb · Twist · Carry (amount 50 lbs.) · Lift (amount 50 lbs.) · Drive- Forklift Other Physical Requirements: · Able to stand and walk up to 12-hours on concrete or other hard surfaces. · Occasionally required to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. · Must be able to lift, bend and twist repetitively during shift. · Frequent and effective dexterity in fingers and hands to operate hand tools. · Proficient hand / eye coordination to operate equipment and controls.
