What are the responsibilities and job description for the LVN Nurse position at Amend Treatment?
AMEND Treatment Center in Malibu has opportunity for full-time and part-time LVNs and (RNs) to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of professionals in providing residential mental health care to adults of all ages and genders in a beautiful, home-like setting. The ideal candidate is warm, enthusiastic, interested in growth potential, and enjoys interacting with clients. This position requires sensitivity and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, medication management, a team orientation, and experience with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders.
Duties include:
1. Shall be responsible for medication management procedures, collaborate with and support Doctor in all aspects of medication management and ordering of medications.
2. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, calling for assistance from health care support personnel as needed.
3. Documents patient care services by charting in client files and medical folder.
4. Protects patients and employees by developing, improving, training, and implementing infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
5. Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Provides client supervision and individual and group interactions. Participates in daily activities and collaborates with team.
6. Shall attend Clinical Committee meetings as needed.
7. Shall conduct health education and/or psycho-educational groups as determined by Director.
8. Shall perform such additional functions as specifically requested by Directors to meet special facility patient needs, as necessary.
Must have reliable transportation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Attainment of at least 21 years of age
- Completion of Criminal Record Clearance
- Completion of Health Screen clearance with negative tuberculosis (TB) and, per California State requirements, proof of Covid-19 vaccination
- Agree to random drug testing
EDUCATION/TRAINING
· Successful completion of a nursing program with degree and/or certification.
· Current nursing license, preferable California Registered Nurse (RN) or (LVN)
· Completion of Mandated Reporter Training within specified timeframe
EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, with persons with mental health concerns.
· Preferred experience in working with clients in a psychiatric, mental health, or substance abuse residential treatment setting.
· Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in evaluating and/or treating clients
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
· LVN (LPN), RN
· Valid Class II driver’s license with clean driving records and current auto insurance
· Current CPR/First Aid Certifications (We can provide as needed)· Water Safety Certification (We can provide as needed)
