What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Facility Management position at Amentum?
As part of the Missions Operations and Spaceport Services organization, candidate will be responsible for all aspects of contract facility management requirements (PWS 2.4). Must have knowledge and experience of the KSC/Spaceport footprint leading a team of at least twelve facility managers assigned to over fifty facilities and areas. Candidate will be required to monitor contract requirements such as documentation for the facility safety such as fire extinguisher inspections, eye wash units, potential hazards, etc. The Facility Management Manager must have excellent written and oral communications skills establishing relationships with the Facility management team and spaceport customers. Because of the growth, standardization of processes through documented procedures are required to improve team cohesiveness and customer satisfaction. Candidate will be leading, and participating, in meetings with customers at all levels; demonstrated public speaking capabilities and professionalism are a must.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to BOSS facility managers in administrative and operational areas; perform as facility manager in identified areas
- Ensure contract documentation requirements are met and posted in Sharepoint for customer and management audit
- Maintain Facility Manager assignment list on BOSS Portal and distribute to customers; ensure each facility manager has an established backup
- Enforce facility managers cross training with backup routinely
- Develop orientation package for new facility managers; update and maintain based on current environment
- Develop and maintain facility manager guide for quick reference for each facility for backup facility manager
- Establish relationships and collaborate with BOSS and Spaceport program POCs and stakeholders such SI, EGS, LSP, UB, etc.
- Monitor daily operations of facilities and facility systems through review of the Spaceport Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and the Kennedy Integrated Consolidated Schedule (KICS) for planned maintenance, modifications, and outages to facility systems in support of payload operations ensuring facility system capabilities are available to meet customer requirements. Ensure facility customers are informed on safety and operational issues through email or newsletter.
- Ensure the coordination and implementation of all documentation concerning Hurricane & Severe Weather Plans and Emergency Action Plans. All Facility Managers are automatically DART members.
- Provide 24/7 availability via cell and respond accordingly when necessary.
- Coordinate review of documentation concerning Hurricane & Severe Weather Plans and Emergency Action Plans.
- Promote process improvements to improve customer relations and efficiencies
- Establish goals performance and organizational goals for facility managers; measure progress and success periodically; discuss in annual performance reviews
- Mentor and support employee development and growth
- Monitor and ensure annual recertification are accomplished and documented
- Establish team recognition and rewards
- Collaborate with Spaceport Integration Office to provide pertinent facility information regarding safety, construction, and operations
- Develop, update and maintain procedures associated with facility management activities
- Attend meetings related to pertinent activities, project and operations for facility management inclusion
Qualifications/Experience
- Must be Certified Facility Manager Professional (FMP)
- Must possess or obtain Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credentials within one year of start date (At least one required by contract)
- Three years experience managing exempt and non exempt personnel
- Experience using scheduling tools including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), MS Project, EWRS, and MAXIMO
- Excellent writing skills to develop procedures and processes
- Demonstrated excellent oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and inclusion
