The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor position has a wide variety of responsibilities including the supervision of warehouse personnel, drivers, and warehousing of inventory.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: This list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Supervision of team members and equipment
Recruit and select candidates for staffing needs within warehouse and driver positions.
Assign shipping and receiving tasks to warehouse team members.
Monitor work to ensure conformance to established work standards to include meeting deadlines, maintaining a high level of accuracy, meeting customer expectations and safety practices.
Dispatch loads to drivers in a fair and equitable manner keeping loads delivered on schedule. Arrange truck routes in such a way as to maximize pay loads and minimize delivery costs. Assign back-hauls.
Train new employees in driver functions and processes. This includes training on effective ways to handle material to minimize and/or eliminate damage.
Monitor driver's paperwork and compliance to ensure that work is properly completed and within mandated requirements.
Partner with Human Resources to comply with and monitor Driver DOT regulations/processes.
Answer questions and concerns raised by team members to resolve work-related challenges that may be present.
Order warehouse and other supplies, tarps, and belts.
Ensure that the warehouse grounds are neat and orderly.
Replace and repair equipment and other tools as needed.
Align and lead team members to meet SQDC goals.
Manage the Warehouse Management Solution (WMS)
Partner with Training and Development partners to develop and implement training related to WMS (i.e. videos, guides).
Coordinate with the operations management team to make sure all branches have adequate inventory on operations related supplies (i.e. RMA Labels).
Assist WMS director to ensure inventory submissions are run daily and inventory issues are resolved.
Assist in implementation of WMS system where needed.
Safety Committee
Conduct and facilitate employee training on applicable safety standards.
Conduct safety inspection audits and ensure issues are being resolved in a timely fashion.
Performance of Miscellaneous Responsibilities
Travel as needed to support ongoing and new initiatives including WMS, building modifications, equipment maintenance and purchase, Safety meetings, training.
Supervise stock rotation in accordance with established standards for moving material.
Attending management meetings and other related meetings and training sessions.

Strong mathematical skills.
Qualifications
High School diploma, HSED or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of post-high school education in material management field preferred or 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
Retail display knowledge a plus.
Experience working with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
Prior Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Operations experience a plus.
