POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Intern assists with installing and maintaining network file servers and network operating systems; ensure that backup copies of all files are routinely made and securely stored at separate location; maintain system documentation. Provide technical support to users concerning network system operations. Trouble shoots problems with network equipment and performs equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate. Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the normal business hours of the establishment and may occasionally be asked to vary their schedule and/or work overtime to meet department requirements. Analysis, judgment, attention to detail, dependability, informal communication, initiative, knowledge of work, sensitivity, teamwork, technical/professional self-development, work standards and adhere to the facility professional appearance standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in computer science, data processing or related field preferred.
Familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software.
Ability to communicate information to staff and the public in a clear and concise manner.
Ability and desire to work as a member of a team
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees and/or students of the organization.
Able to anticipate the needs of others and work independently.
Ability to focus on quality outcomes and adapt quickly to change as necessary.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines appropriately as directed by Supervisor.
Good interpersonal skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with installation, configuration, maintenance, modification and operation of Local Area Networks.
Provide technical support and assistance to network users, such as password resets and creating email accounts.
Install PCs, software and peripheral equipment.
Assist with PC, network configuration and cabling.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights.
Install, configure, and maintain network cabling and other networking equipment.
Assists with installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of network connected end-user hardware, software and peripheral devices.
Management of computer labs, installing any software needed for each quarter and/or special events. Travel to off-site location may be required.
Assists with ordering software, hardware and other supplies as required for the institutional computer network, personal computer, and computer labs.
Assists with maintenance of the phone system.
Assist with the setup of technology for meetings, orientation/in-services, conferences, events, etc. This might require travel to an off-site location.
May perform other duties as needed.
Install and assemble equipment required to run IT operations (eg nursing carts, Smart devices).
Provide technical support and assistance to network users such as password resets and creating email, PCC, Casamba, Devero, Evident & other future accounts.
Under the guidance of supervisor install, configuration computer imaging, deployment and set up of computer/laptop/mobile devices and Printers. Travel to off-site location may be required
May be required to work on-call hours. May work other non-technical duties as assigned.
Job requires significant time for travel to different facilities.
