This position is primarily responsible for supervising and providing back-up to Claims Adjusters 1 & 2, Technical Claims Adjusters 1 & 2, and assisting the Claims Manager in managing the Claims Department, specifically overseeing claims for all underwriters based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable failures by performing the following duties.

The Claims Team Lead earns competitive compensation from $55,000-$62,250*
This is a REMOTE position unless local to our Lakewood, CO or St. Peters, MO office.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do in This Role
- Ensure complete and sound claims approvals, legal reviews and investigations when necessary.
- Manage the claims staff and interaction of other departments within the company.
- Supervise the work of the Claims Adjusters.
- Manage employees’ attendance, timesheets and responsibilities.
- Manage workflow of claims employees.
- Manage current and outstanding open claims.
- Look for ways to improve processes and database issues.
- Appraise and help develop procedures to improve accountability and ease workflow issues.
- Oversee Claims Adjusters, providing policy reinforcement and appropriate coaching for all aspects of the claims process.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise employees in the Claims Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable.
- Interview, hire and train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Prepare appropriate employee performance documentation per policy.
- Maintain company provided desktop/laptop camera in order to conduct on camera team meetings and coaching and development meetings with assigned employees.
Qualifications
What You Need to Join Our Team
Required skills and abilities:
- Minimum two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one-year experience in claims processing.
- Remain calm and professional in stressful situations, working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects going simultaneously.
- Be very socially focused, friendly, courteous, service-oriented, flexible, and enjoy working with a variety of staff with a heavy focus on building and maintaining relationships.
- Be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
- Work independently and productively, with minimum supervision.
- Manage multiple projects.
- Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems, while adhering to established guidelines and procedures working collaboratively in decision-making.

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Microsoft Excel); Contract Management Systems; Word Processing Software (Microsoft Word); Electric Mail Software (Microsoft Outlook).
Preferred Education/Certifications
- Two-year technical automotive or business degree
- Established ASE certifications P2 Specialist, C1 Service Consultant, and completion of A1-A8 within one year
- Ability within one year to be California Adjuster Licensed (required as needed).
