Job Description: eLearning Teacher
Overview: American Baptist College is seeking a dedicated and experienced eLearning Teacher to join our team. The eLearning Teacher will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality educational content to faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders through online platforms. This position requires expertise in online teaching methodologies, instructional design, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging online courses and training modules tailored to the needs of faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders.- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital tools to facilitate interactive and effective online learning experiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to create instructional materials, multimedia content, and assessments.
- Adapt teaching strategies and content to meet the diverse learning styles and backgrounds of adult learners.
- Conduct live virtual sessions, webinars, and workshops to enhance participant engagement and knowledge retention.
- Provide timely feedback and support to participants, addressing questions, concerns, and technical issues related to online courses.
- Monitor participant progress, track completion rates, and assess the effectiveness of online learning initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in eLearning, instructional technology, and adult education.
- Maintain accurate records of course materials, participant enrollment, and assessment results.
- Collaborate with college leadership and stakeholders to align eLearning initiatives with institutional goals and priorities.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and delivering online courses or training programs.
- Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and educational technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and best practices in online instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse learners.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in higher education or a similar educational setting preferred.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and online learning environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with course development using instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
- Certification in online teaching or instructional design (e.g., Quality Matters, Online Learning Consortium).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for online content (e.g., ADA compliance).
