Assistant Controller Transportation Services Business Unit

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT

• Responsible for completing complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate grouping(s) of relevant general ledger accounts, including intercompany eliminating entries.
• Maintain existing control procedures and documentation and perform periodic testing.
• Gathers, creates, and reconciles month-end accounting entries ensuring that all journal sources have been completed.
• Prepares/posts financial journal entries and financial records to accurately reflect the financial position of the company.
• Exposure to multiple consolidation entities/levels, complex transactions, and financial statement generation and review.
• Ad-hoc analysis and research of proper GAAP accounting treatment.

What we are looking for...

You will need to have:

• B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 6 years of previous accounting experience
• Competence in all financial and accounting principles and processes
• Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience working in a transportation, manufacturing, or corporate environment
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• General knowledge around continuous improvement or lean concepts
• Knowledge of SEC and other government regulations
• Previous experience utilizing Oracle
• Knowledge of SOX regulations
