Description
We currently have one (1) position available. Based upon the candidate's years of experience, this position may be filled at any Dispatcher Level (Logistics Associate, Associate Dispatcher 2, Associate Dispatcher, or Dispatcher)
Monitors the activities of ACBL’s barge projection and fleet planning functions to meet operating performance criteria and customer service requirements
Essential Duties/Functions:
Plan and execute barge and boat schedules within assigned river segment Identify short-term power needs for assigned river segment. Provide area planner with daily activity forecast and validate current plan. Provides functional direction to Traffic Assistant activities in assigned river segment. Provide barge status, days in status, tow slot utilization within assigned river segment Manage vendor activities within assigned river segment with a focus on generating fleet speed and barge capacity. Ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations. Initiates process improvements on work flow to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Perform other duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in transportation, logistics or a related field is required.
Years of Experience:
1-6 years of logistics competence in transportation environment is preferred.
Demands:
- Competence in dispatching, logistics or fleet planning techniques is required.
- Proficiency in using office productivity software such as Google G Suite and MS Office.
