ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the Sponsorship Director is to focus on developing strategic (internal and external) sponsorship sales to generate and drive revenue for American Dream and its attractions. This position will ensure guests to American Dream have a memorable/social experience with our partners, in addition to overseeing the implementation and fulfillment of all the sponsor agreements.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Secure multiyear/multimillion-dollar sponsorships for American Dream and American Dream attractions
- Work with American Dream to identify possible sponsorship collateral and assets
- Directly contribute to the revenue development and the overall growth of the business, expanding existing partnerships while identifying and growing new relationships
- Craft specific partner packages/decks with new and innovative ideas that feature one-of-a-kind assets at American Dream to meet and exceed partner marketing and business goals
- Proactively seek and cultivate business relationships
- Leverage knowledge and relationships with brands and sponsorship agencies to develop revenue opportunities
- Build deep trusted relationships/partnerships with sponsorship decision-makers within brands and their agencies to serve their interactive marketing needs
- Liaise across internal and external sponsorship, partnership and leasing teams to understand partner/prospect needs and objectives to create compelling, customized partnership opportunities
- Building, refining, updating, and maintaining a pipeline of prospects; establish and build effective relationships with brand advertisers and agencies
- Maintain a consistent pulse on cultural landscape (music, art, film, fashion, culinary); understand what is relevant, trending and next
- Find new ways to activate our brand and those of our partners and sponsors by consistently bringing new and fresh ideas to the table that surprise and wow American Dream visitors
- Assist SVP of Marketing with long and short-term strategic partnership and sponsorship planning, P&L management, and sales strategy calendar
- Direct, negotiate and assist in execution and fulfillment of all sponsor/media agreements
- Direct liaison efforts with external agencies and clients
WHO YOU ARE
- BA degree in Business or Marketing preferred
- Personal relationships/rolodex with C-level executives at top companies
- Minimum of 10 years in sponsorship sales/marketing experience preferably with an entertainment venue or sports team
- Strong knowledge of the sponsorship sales, marketing and corporate community strategies including industry trends, key players and terminology, with the ability to craft integrated marketing plans and solutions
- Self-starter with proven ability to research and identify prospective sponsors, partners and new business opportunities across targeted categories in a competitive landscape
- Well-versed and experienced in ad sales, prospecting, pursuing, and developing new sponsorship partnerships
- Passion for destination entertainment, retail, dining, events and experiential marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including creation of convincing and strategic sales approaches, proposals, documentations and presentations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; easily adapts to digital team/project management software and systems. InDesign a plus, but not required
