Key Objective(s):

The main purpose of the Public Relations & Community Relations Specialist is:

•          To assist in the dissemination of key messages of American Dream and promote American Dream as the premier retail and entertainment complex.
• To build relationships with local community to benefit American Dream.

Primary Responsibilities:

•           Assist with the research, writing and distribution of all American Dream media materials including press releases and weekly calendar announcements.
• Build and manage a workflow calendar for all press releases and media alerts.including reporters, producers, and editors.
• Manage the media monitoring services; document, summarize and distribute information on a daily/ weekly/ monthly basis.
• Generate media reports and recaps for American Dream special events, holidays, and year-end.
• Compile media coverage reports.
• Research big ideas and opportunities to bring more exposure to American Dream.
• Assist in coordinating live media coverage in American Drea
• Assist in implementing day to day media requests specifically article fact checks, photo requests and coordinating live media coverage in American Dream.
• Function as part of the crisis communication team.
• Work with various production crews filming onsite at American Dream.
• Partner with broader Community Relations team and support efforts on behalf of American Dream
• Develop and manage relationships with local chambers of commerce, Meadowlands, local mayors, key community organizations.
• Serve as a liaison between all American Dream departments to ensure communication of community/non-profit events.
• Assist with researching and identifying key signature community organizations and represent American Dream to these organizations.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

•           2-3 yrs. experience in media relations or journalism
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledgeable in working with news media pitching stories
• Knowledgeable in producing press releases, and related media materials
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills required
