Job Summary
The Continuous Improvement Specialist utilizes Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence throughout AGS Operations. Working closely with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Field Service, they will identify opportunities and lead events that result in measurable improvements. As a leader in CI, they will teach and coach others on Lean tools and methodology to develop a strong culture of continuous improvement in AGS.
Responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and maintain continuous improvement programs and initiatives that are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
· Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that drive process improvements, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
· Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of problems, develop corrective actions, and monitor the effectiveness of these actions to ensure sustainable improvements.
· Facilitate and lead kaizen events and other continuous improvement workshops, including training and coaching to employees on lean manufacturing principles, process mapping, and process improvement tools.
· Develop and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of process improvements, including tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant data.
· Work closely with Quality Assurance and other departments to ensure that all process improvements meet or exceed the company's quality, safety, and productivity standards.
· Develop and maintain value stream maps and process maps to identify areas for improvement and optimize workflow and processes.
· Conduct regular process audits to ensure compliance with established procedures and identify areas for further improvement.
· Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices for continuous improvement, and share this knowledge with the team and management to drive innovation and growth.
· Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including senior management, peers, and other staff, to ensure buy-in and support for continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a continuous improvement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and experience leading kaizen events.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Lean Six Sigma or other related certification preferred.
