Part Time Porter

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Porter to join our Company, a fast-growing raw ingredients supplier in the nutraceutical / pharmaceutical industry.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, reliable, knows how to manage time and should have previous cleaning experience. The person with this role will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our facility. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for both staff and visitors.

Responsibilities: but not limited to:

• Routinely clean building floors, warehouse, cafeteria, and office by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming as appropriate.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dedusting walls, windows, molding, office machines and equipment.
• Clean kitchen areas, including refrigerator, microwaves, coffee machine, water cooler.
• Mix water and detergents containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Prepare cart and cleaning supplies for the day.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as needed.
• Interior Pest Control Inspection and communicating with our third-party pest control officer any findings.
• Notify supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Replenish the supply of copy paper by the copy when needed.
• Maintain necessary logbooks in accordance with SOPs.
• Maintain Facility Exterior to be clear of trash and debris.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.

Qualification:

• Qualification: High School graduate or equivalent or adequate experience in the related field.
• Experience: Minimum 1 – 2 yrs. Industrial Experience in the related field.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read & write English.
• Ability to understand and follow GMP, SOP & General safety requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Physical Demands:

• Required to reach with arms and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
• Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, and climb a ladder.
• The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs or more
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• Work in an office environment but also at very close proximity to heavy machinery in the warehouse and powders from products.
• May be in contact with Allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean Shellfish. Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, and Soybeans).
• Potential to move between office and warehouse areas to complete job functions.

Compliance with New York State Human Rights Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $16.00. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. • 4 hour shift
• Afternoon shift
• Monday to Friday
