What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook - Full Time - 11 am - 7 pm position at American Health Partners?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Cook is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and facility policies and procedures; and to ensure that quality food service is always provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing and in accordance with medically appropriate portion control.
• Review menus prior to preparation of food and inspect special diet trays to ensure accurate preparation.
• Complete forms and reports to document dietary procedures.
• Report disrepair of dietary equipment.
• Assist in establishing food service production lines, etc. to ensure that meals are prepared on time.
• Assist in and/or direct scheduled cleaning duties.
• Participate in and assist with departmental studies and projects as assigned.
• Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precaution policies when performing daily tasks.
• Wear protective clothing and devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste and/or blood or body fluids.
• Report complaints and grievances to supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Recognize and respond to dietary emergencies and report observations.
• Report accidents and incidents to supervisor immediately in all situations.
• Participate in on-going educational programs related to the job.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and facility business.
• Successful completion of required training
• Handle multiple priorities effectively

• Various operating systems
• Standard office equipment
• Microsoft Suite applications
• Desktop, laptop and/or iPad
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education:
o Minimum of tenth (10th) grade education
• Experience:
o Long term care experience strongly preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
• Does not have supervisory responsibilities
• Supervisor frequently determines priorities
• Occasionally needs manager’s direction
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Audio-Visual: Good
• Hearing: Good
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds
• Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling ,use of hands
• Work is typically performed in a standard long-term care environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature-controlled
• Above-average conversational noise is frequent
• Position may require flexible hours, unscheduled overtime or occasional week-end work
• Travel may be required
