We have an excellent opportunity available to join our School Engagement Team! Help us advance our mission of championing longer, healthier lives by engaging students, parents, school administrators and other partners with the American Heart Association.The Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge are school initiatives devoted to developing happy and healthy students through teaching valuable heart health lessons with the opportunity to make a difference in their community! Focused on the whole child, we’re working with educators to make a lasting impact on the overall health and well-being of kids, schools and communities. Come join us! In this full-time temporary position based in Tri-Cities, the School Engagement Associate will support the Development team and participating schools throughout the assigned region with administrative support such as helping with email campaigns; scheduling and clerical coordination including scheduling recruitment and planning meetings with schools; data entry, donation processing and customer service.This position involves regular local travel for on-site school support and presentations.This temporary position is from September 2023 up through April 2024.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role has a passion for health and the resourcefulness, detail-orientation and customer-service to engage youth, teachers and volunteers to enthusiastic action.  Other qualifications include:

  • Experience with (or aptitude for) driving fundraising initiatives with schools and students
  • Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
  • Effective organizational, detail management and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and present to a wide range of audiences from kindergarteners to teens and adults to facilitate online presentations with potential of in-person presentations as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation. Current driver’s license and insurance required.
