Essential Functions
  • Developing and writing policy coverage forms and endorsements for new product development or product changes, ensuring compliance with state regulations while meeting business objectives, and providing competitive differences in the marketplace
  • Research and analysis of state laws and regulations, advisory opinions and bulletins; and determine impact on product offerings and/or on the company
  • Providing regulatory guidance and recommendations on new product development, product changes, and coordinate development and implementation with product managers, project managers, underwriting operations, and regulatory compliance analysts, ensuring all business objectives and regulatory requirements are met
  • Research state requirements for new product offerings and proposed product changes, develop any state-specific forms, rules or notices, and coordinate changes in procedures
  • Write specifications for Corporate Technology Services regarding changes needed to production systems for new or updated products
  • Update policyholder notices concerning new product development or product changes to ensure clarity of coverage
  • Assists with the development of communication to the agency field force explaining changes to forms, rules, and any new product offerings
  • Analyze, research, and respond to policy language/coverage questions from product leadership, underwriting operations, claims, and legal
  • Analyze and complete case assignments in the company’s legislative and regulatory database, determine if any action is necessary, and coordinate required actions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience required
  • Two years’ minimum work experience in property and casualty insurance field or related industry experience (Paralegal, Law Clerk, Financial) candidates considered / Candidates with skills in drafting formal communication as primary job function also considered
  • Basic knowledge of regulations, laws, insurance product and contract terminology, and requirements of state insurance departments, helpful
  • Must have strong written communication skills with the ability to draft documents, communication, and business correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information, interact, and respond to inquiries when necessary-including communication with state regulators
  • Must be self-driven, goal oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks on a deadline
