Career Summary:
The Billing and Data Specialist undertakes a variety of financial and non-financial tasks to help guarantee the billing and collection of Enterprise-wide revenue related to non-ANA membership dues. The Billing and Data Specialist functions include, but are not limited to invoicing, collections, payment application and responding to inquiries.
Reports to Billing and Data Supervisor assisting with the monthly close process by finalizing all invoices and cash applications, following up past due accounts and updating AR aging report. The Billing and Data Specialist is expected to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and policies and guidelines.
Education:
Associate Degree Accounting or equivalent work experience required; Bachelors preferred
Related Work Experience:
4 - 5 years in an accounting role that encompasses billing, for a membership association, is required. (Bachelor’s degree in accounting can substitute for up to three years of experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in Personify, or a similar membership database, is required.
Association/accounts receivable work highly desirable.
Skills :
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Excellent communication and telephone skills required.
- Must have good analytical and organizational skills and have experience working with Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to respond to a high volume of customer calls and emails daily.
- Ability to track and account for client account balances.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain healthy inter-departmental working relationships.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Position requires solid general knowledge of computer systems including Personify and databases, including Microsoft Office.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid: Employees are considered Hybrid if they are regularly scheduled to work in at least 20% of their work week or work month in an ANA Enterprise Office.
Hybrid employees are expected to travel to the office when requested and/or when necessary to achieve results or meet business needs.

- The ANA Enterprise will hire primarily from the District of Columbia (DC), Maryland (MD), and Virginia (VA).
