Pre-Press Manager
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Plant Manager, direct and coordinate, either directly or through subordinate Shift Supervisors, all prepress department operations. Be accountable for manufacturing costs, quality and quantity of production, methods used and effective use of production hours, skills, machines and equipment. Participate in planning production schedule, staffing requirements and manufacturing controls as related to manufacturing operations. Expedite scheduled production, investigate delays and initiate corrective action to assure economical production through efficient procedures. Administer company rules, regulations and policies governing employment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Leadership and motivational skills: As a Prepress Manager you will need to be able to motivate a team and provide specific goals.
Good communication skills: An effective PrePress Manager must be able to communicate on different levels with people. Being able to get a message across to staff, superiors and customers is an essential skill that is put to the test daily.
Problem-solving and conflict management skills: Have good conflict management skills to resolve conflict.
Accountability: Responsible for a number of business aspects, as such he or she needs to have a sense of accountability.
People management and motivation: A successful Prepress Manager builds a strong team and develop positive relationships by understanding and addressing individual needs of staff.
Delegating skills: In this leadership role the Manager is expected to get things done through others and to know how and when to hand over tasks to team members.
Able to work under pressure: Meeting stringent deadlines is essential. It is important that in this role you are able to effectively work even under pressure situations.
