WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview) : The Non-Congregate Shelter (NCS) Shelter Resident Transition Team Member supports the delivery of Red Cross services to clients staying at non-congregated shelters.
The NCS Team Member completes a range of tasks necessary for non-congregate shelter operations and compassionately and professionally interacts with clients, vendors, partners, and hotel operators to ensure their needs are met.
This position will be supporting clients in Lake City, Florida.

NCS Service Associate will support the day-to-day activities at non-congregate shelter sites which may include :
- Meet disaster-caused feeding needs of individuals and families residing in hotels (non-congregate shelters).
- Serve meals picked up from feeding vendors that meet required cultural, religious, and dietary sensitivities of clients while practicing safe food handling and proper food service.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, feeding vendors, hotel staff, and partners.
- Maintain strict meal pickup and delivery schedules.
- Provide accurate reporting of feeding activities as assigned.
- Organize, plan, and allocate resources while utilizing materials and space effectively.
Standard Schedule : This is a temporary assignment expected to last three to six months. Work hours are 10 hours per day 6 days per week.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications) :
- Education : HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience with social services or service / program delivery, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- MUST BE Computer and mobile phone literate and understand basic computer programs such as outlook email, Teams, word, excel, & web-based systems.
- Ability to complete Red Cross required trainings.
- Physical requirements may include : the ability to sit or stand for long periods; adapt to long, irregular hours, and frequent schedule changes;
lift, stand, sit, walk, and carry up to 25 lbs.; and ability to wear facial and hair nets appropriately during food service.

For the purposes of Hurricane Idalia response, all NCS Service Associate will be qualified as and support the missions of traditional NCS / Feeding Workers.
- Depending on geography and number of clients per site, teams may itinerate daily to multiple sites.
- Report to the NCS Site supervisor and receive Feeding guidance from the Feeding Manager or assigned supervisor.
- Support the delivery of Red Cross services to clients staying at non-congregate shelters to include but is not limited to :
- Client Care : Report situational awareness, issues, and unmet needs to the Zone Supervisor.
- Feeding support : Pick up and deliver meals. Determine which meals clients wish to receive each day, identify dietary restrictions, record, and report meal count information to Feeding Manager, communicate number of meals needed next day, pay attention to quality and condition of meals and cultural appropriateness and report suggestions to the Zone supervisor .
