What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Accounting Assistant position at American Residential Warranty?
Job Summary:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the Accounting team
- Assists Accounting team in the creation of new sales tickets, updates, reinstates, recurring invoices and application of customer payments
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Responsible for weekly audits of client payments and pricing changes
- Enter returned checks in the system and update customer’s account
- Performs data processing in MS Excel daily
- Reconciliations of merchant accounts
- Month-end reconciliation reports
- Aging and cancellation report
- Data scrubbing to ensure accuracy for the commission report and payroll
- Provide regular communication to management regarding status of account collection
- Assists team members with cross-training in order to create a well-rounded team
Requirements:
- Must have prior accounting experience, preferably with Accounts Receivable
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Must be a team player and able to work well with others
- Proficient with Excel, Outlook, Teams and Accounting Software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in Accounting or a student working towards a degree
- 1 year of Accounts Receivable (preferred)
This is a Part-time position (20-30 hours per week/ flexible on days and hours) with the possibility to become a full-time position.
