What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Intern position at American Sugar Refining?
FCI Residential is a part of Florida Crystals Corporation's real estate division, which focuses on multi-family residential development in urban and in-fill areas. The real estate division currently has approximately 3,300 units in the development process throughout Florida.
OVERVIEW
The Development intern will be responsible for assisting in and exposures to managing project developments (multiple projects, depending of scale of projects) within the company from start to finish including project management, as well as managing necessary stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the approved quality.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Working on completing Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree (MBA) preferred in Finance, Real Estate, or related discipline

- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to oversee, communicate, and collaborate with Development and Construction Teams
- Self-driven and highly motivated
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational skills
- Financial understanding of Financial Statements in excel
- A desire to learn Real Estate Development process
- Strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Well rounded exposure to fully integrated Real Estate operations
- Assist in develop financial models, including discounted cash flows, asset valuations, complex waterfall calculations and cost-benefit analysis to evaluate and underwrite prospective development projects
- Assist in Prepare budgets, including research to verify assumptions
- Assisting with the process of property/market underwriting, due diligence and deal execution
- Assist in the Preparation of loan and equity request memorandum for potential/existing projects
- Assist in Preparing investment and other memoranda, including regular investor reporting
