Job Description

The Team

We are seeking an IT audit manager to join American Tower’s Global Internal Audit department. The Global Internal Audit team conducts risk-based financial, IT and operational audits, tests Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404 (“SOX-404”) controls and leads special projects and investigations in accordance with the team’s plan. Day to day you will plan audits, develop internal audit scopes and objectives, provide oversight to internal audit procedures, coaching and oversight of senior/staff IT auditors, and prepare internal audit reports that reflect the results of the work performed. Additionally, the IT audit manager provides oversight on the status of outstanding internal audit issues. As an IT audit manager, you will partner cross-functionally to deliver audit projects focusing on financial, operational, and internal control processes.

  • Ability to support the SOX-404 IT process, including scoping, planning, walkthroughs, testing and status reporting.
  • Independently conduct IT and IT-related audit projects, including analyses of business data and company systems.
  • Ability to conduct complex audit projects and special assignments.
  • Supervise and coach auditors to support IT-related controls testing for financial and operational audits.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of internal control and processes through detailed testing and discussions with management.
  • Compile audit findings and recommend value-added revisions to systems and processes.
  • Communicate audit findings to management in well-written audit reports.
  • Manage resolution of open audit issues and facilitate agreement with business process owner to ensure timely closure of action plans.
  • Communicate with external auditors and support their initiatives effectively from an IT audit standpoint.

Job Qualification

What You Need to Succeed
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT audit management or in IT-related management position. Additional experience in financial and operational auditing preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IS Management, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other IT audit-related certification required.
  • Working knowledge of network, operating system, application and database-related controls and configurations.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials, Active Directory, SQL and Oracle databases preferred.
  • Experience with system implementations, access controls, change management, back-up, and IT security-related processes preferred.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity controls and incident response management processes.
  • Knowledge SOX, COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSX, and Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and Practice Advisories is preferable.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.
  • Ability to interact well with internal and external parties.
  • Understanding of internal control concepts and experience in applying them to plan, perform, manage, and report on the evaluation of various business processes/areas/functions.
  • Ability to complete projects and reports within communicated deadlines.
  • Experience in performing multiple projects and working with varying team members.
  • Strong project management, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Approximately 25% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.
  • Other preferred certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage IT auditors by providing guidance, feedback, oversight and mentoring during the completion of audit test procedures.

Environment

Approximately 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
