Reports to: Sr. Vice President and Chief Risk Officer
Position Objective: The enterprise risk specialist is responsible for coordinating details relating to the enterprise risk management (ERM) program, including the documentation of processes, meetings, risks, tolerances and mitigations. The enterprise risk specialist is responsible for the corporate insurance program and the business continuity plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the chief risk officer with enterprise risk management activities:
Continuously improve knowledge of ERM standards, techniques and processes
Develop ERM reports and exhibits
Risk analysis
Monitor of ERM activities/issues
Coordinate and participate in Emerging Risk Task Force meetings
Coordinate and participate in quarterly ERM Forum meetings
Maintain and update emerging risks portfolio
Build and maintain strong relationships with other AmericanAg staff to facilitate implementation of enterprise risk management processes
Provide supporting exhibits for the Own Risk Solvency Assessment
Conduct and provide continuous enhancement strategies for AFBIS ERM
Manage corporate insurance for American Ag, AFBIS, and AFBF:
Develop and maintain expertise regarding insurance policy types and the applicability to corporate exposures
Preparation of information for applications and renewals
Own process for acquisition of insurance and renewals
Research and consult regarding coverage related questions/issues
Evaluate quotes to ensure they are competitive and complete
Review and analyze insurance policies
Mature and maintain business continuity plan (BCP)
Develop and maintain expertise in BCP standards, processes and best practices
Work closely with BCP coordinators for each to department to understand processes, identify gaps, and facilitate solutions
Prepare annual update to business continuity plan and critical contacts register.
Create business continuity documents and communicate business continuity strategy with all internal stakeholders
Work with information technology department to design and implement tests and exercises for the BCP execution annually

Required Experience, Education, Skills
Bachelor's degree in risk management or related field or equivalent experience
At least one year of experience working in the insurance industry
Strong analytical and data skills including Excel and risk management software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and organization
A team player with ability to problem-solve and partner with others to effect solutions
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills
Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation
