Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibility:The Benefits Manager is responsible for the administration, implementation and communication of employee benefit programs. Key responsibilities include administering health and welfare, managing outsourced programs and functions, developing policies and procedures, and managing vendor relationships. Additionally, this person will ensure our programs meet employees’ needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. Essential Functions:•Administers and manages the health and welfare plans including medical, dental, vision, disability, life and leave plans •Maintains contact and builds relationships with carriers to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees •Works closely with HRIS Department and outside vendors during the Annual Open Enrollment process and during any merger and acquisition activities to ensure the correct programing of our plans•Oversees the handling of benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable and courteous resolutions by interpreting benefits policies and procedures•Ensures company compliance with state and federal regulations including HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, Paid Leave and other applicable regulations•Responsible for maintaining all plans’ legal documents•Responsible for timely filings of the Health & Welfare 5500 and other legal reporting•Instructs carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefit programs; ensures prompt and accurate compliance•Oversees the Americold leave process and is a resource for leave related issues•Analyzes the flow of employee benefits data and develops internal procedures, guidance, and training for the team that improves efficiency•Ensures invoices are processed and paid accurately and timely•Administers the Health Incentive Account, promotes participation and engage in other wellness activities•Develops and implements a benefits communication plan to support the correct utilization of the programs•Manages the Sr. Benefits Administrator•Oversees outsourced functions to ensure its correct administration•Other duties as requested
