AmeriCorps Community Corps
Full-time and Part-time 20- or 30-hours/week
AmeriCorps, often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps, places individuals within communities to commit a year to serving others. AmeriCorps is a real-life education and work experience wrapped into one. As a member, you will learn teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and other essential skills that will benefit you while gaining personal satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference in your community.
*Multiple locations across Wisconsin*
Some areas include Marshfield, Wausau, Stevens Point & Rhinelander
This program places individuals with nonprofits and government agencies across Wisconsin to strengthen their capacity to address health related needs and priorities.
As a Community Corps member, you will serve hand-in-hand with organizations working to improve community health needs related to any number of health priorities such as; mental health, food insecurity, health disparities, healthy youth development, substance use prevention, vaccinations and much more. These organizations include nonprofits, clinics, hospitals, schools, coalitions, public health departments, governmental agencies and youth-serving organizations. Member duties may include coordinating and carrying out events, providing educational materials and programs or supporting organizational activities and operations.
Term of Service: 9/11/2023 - 8/31/2024
Benefits for full-time positions (1,700 hours - 35-40 hours per week):

· Childcare assistance (if qualified), up to 100% of costs
· $6,895 education award upon successful completion of service
· Forbearance on qualified Title IV student loans and interest accrual payments while serving.

Benefits for part-time positions at (1,200 hours - 25-30 hours per week):
· Health, vision, and dental insurance for member – premium paid in full.
· Modest bi-weekly living stipend
· $4,826.50 education award upon successful completion of service
· Forbearance on qualified student loans and interest accrual payments while serving.
· Professional training and service gear
Benefits for part-time positions at (900 hours - 15-20 hours per week):
· Modest bi-weekly living stipend
· $3,447.50 education award upon successful completion of service
· Forbearance on qualified student loans and interest accrual payments while serving.
· Professional training and service gear
Required Orientation & Training for all positions (expenses covered):
· September 11-15, 2023
· Training is required – MUST be able to attend ALL training dates.
Qualification Information:
Applicants must be 17 years of age by September 11, 2023, to start and possess or be working towards a high school diploma or GED/HSED and pass required background checks.
What does it mean to serve?
· Applicants must be willing to serve for the duration of the term and service.
· Members must also be able to handle the financial commitment made by accepting the position.
