What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vet Corps position at AmeriCorps?
The Washington Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) will tap the knowledge, skills, and abilities of veterans and their families by engaging them in AmeriCorps national service positions which will engage them to make a positive difference in their community, and improve the quality of life as a civilian for their fellow veterans in all stages of transition, ensuring increased access to state, federal, and local services. Vet Corps members will be successful if they are familiar with services available to veterans in their region.
Member Duties : Serving as Peer Mentors, Vet Corps members will serve student veterans on campus and communities in one of 3 geographical regions. Vet Corps members will be successful if they are familiar with services available to veterans in their region.
