What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Captain- PDSC Station 32 position at Amerimed?
We are hiring a full-time EMS Shift Captain for our Florence, SC market. This position is required to be FT employee. The position will be an “on-truck” position and will report directly to the Division Manager.
Position Responsibilities –
Delivers written and oral communication responds to questions and concerns and produce specific outcomes and impact.
Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decisions on resolution.
Raises awareness of potential strategic alliances and partnerships. Facilitates reconciliation rather than divisiveness among individuals. Collaborates with others to create satisfactory interpersonal outcomes. Take ownership of scheduling and QA of run tickets while on shift.
This is not an all-encompassing list and may require ancillary duties as prescribed by the Division Manager.
Ideal Traits –
Individuals must have strong, effective interpersonal skills and be able to teach and develop the emergency management services group and employees.
Shift Supervisors must be able to work independently and demonstrate accountability to define goals and objectives to achieve desired outcomes. Individuals should have knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures.
Individuals are required to have a strong commitment and will need to provide outstanding services and have a clear customer focus.
It is essential for the Shift Supervisor to have strong negotiation skills, be creative, flexible, and innovative in adapting the program to changing customer needs.
Depending on location of position, work hours will vary depending on company scheduling needs.
This may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
Most importantly, be loyal and focused on the success of Amerimed and the PDSC market.
The role of a Shift Supervisor is a very important one as you are the “first line” of leadership for Amerimed in Florence. The ideal candidate should be levelheaded, logical, and mature. They should be able to reconcile differences within the crews by using rational behavior and a clear thought process. While it is not a prerequisite, having leadership experience is desirable. The candidate should also be punctual and neat in appearance while on duty.
