Class A CDL Driver

CLD Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver pipe, flanges, etc. via a Commercial Delivery Vehicle
• Ability to operate a Moffett or Piggy Back Forklift
• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations. Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to dispatch via telephone.
• Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail with the ability to communicate with other employees and customers
• Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks..
• Check delivery tickets for accuracy and thoroughness.
• Ensures all engineering change notices are processed efficiently, effectively, and consistently and that all booked orders for standard designs have complete documentation.
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with other departments within Ameripipe as well as with potential vendors.
• All other duties assigned by Management

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years of age
• 5 Years’ experience as a Commercial Delivery Driver with Moffett or Piggy Back experience
• Have a valid Class A CDL License (no tickets or accidents 5 years)
• Airbrake Endorsement
• Standard Transmission
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and Background Investigation
• Must be adaptable to different shifts and have the availability to work overtime and weekends when required
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn, have a “can do” attitude

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk 2-4 hours per 8 hour day
• Ability to sit 8 hours per day for driving
• Ability to utilize hands and feet for turning and pushing for driving 8 hours per day
• Ability to stand 4-6 hours per 8 hour day
• Ability to crouch, bend, kneel, lift 50 lbs, carry 50 lbs. and reach as needed in large and tight spaces 4-6 hours per 8 hour day
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. above head and work overhead 6’ 4-6 hours per 8 hour day
