Senior Financial Analyst

Ameriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for Senior Financial Analyst role! This position would conduct business performance analysis, incorporate trend analysis to assess business implications. Focus on analyzing and managing data to support business decisions. Undertaking to be the SME/owner of typical data sources. Able to readily access data required to complete a request and support information requests. More independently build, maintain, and modify models used in forecasting, planning and decision support. Key Responsibilities Create routine reporting by driving variance analysis – focus on providing business context. Assist in developing commentary around business results. Perform independent analysis using multiple data sources to derive root cause and track benefits of past. Develop, improve, and run results reporting models and perform variance analysis. Be a SME (subject matter expert)/owner of the data repository system for the quarterly earnings process. Independently develop simple to sophisticated models to forecast the future implication of business decisions. Independently perform postmortem analysis of impact of past business decisions. Coherently review financial and metric results. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a financial or quantitative field 2-5 years of proven experience Previous experience in financial or analytical role. Consistently demonstrates the ability to complete financial modeling tasks and financial analysis using spreadsheets and/or other tools. Experience applying accounting and financial concepts to interpret and solve business problems. Able to build outputs that support decisions. Strong communication skills, with ability to verbally present findings to management. Ability to complete advanced financial modeling tasks and financial analysis using spreadsheets and/or other tools. Must have strong interpersonal and business skills to work with and support senior leaders across the company. Must have strong attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications May have MBA or other advanced degree/certification.
