Description: OPERATIONS MANAGER – AmeriPro EMS – Central and Southeast Mississippi
The Operations Manager leads all aspects of a progressive private ambulance service with multiple satellite 911 bases throughout Central and Southeast Mississippi to ensure the prompt and efficient response of all emergency, non-emergency, and specialty vehicles within each market while providing the highest quality of patient care available. The Operations Manager works closely with the Vice President/CEO/COO on short and long-range budget preparation and assumes responsibility for assigned budget areas, direct expenditures, and net revenue against the operating budget; development of operational structure and oversees all staffing personnel to ensure adequate coverage within the divisions; projection of needs, service expansion and delivery.
The Operations Manager leads clinical operations, team engagement, operational performance, communications center operations, market customer service and other roles to ensure excellence in patient care, customer service and business performance.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides overall direction for the prompt and efficient response of ambulance personnel and specialty transport, providing the highest level of care, customer service and hospital contract compliance.
- Work includes hiring, training, performance evaluations, and discipline action, and final authority with HR in hiring and dismissal.
- Manages daily response vehicle coverage utilizing the proper personnel within the budgeted parameters.
- Monitors weekly metric and budget performance and takes necessary step to correct variances where required.
- Responsible for annual budget development and communicating performance expectation to all divisional leaders.
- Provides open communications to managers, supervisors and staff enhancing engagement throughout the division.
- Coordinates with Billing to ensure the accurate application of charting and billing related data.
- Ensures the daily readiness of all vehicles and related equipment and makes the recommendation for required replacements within the annual capital budget.
- Monitors staff performance to ensure adequate supervision, consistent performance feedback, timely performance appraisals, appropriate corrective action, equitable promotion opportunities and all other related communications.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances as they pertain to EMS operations within the respective jurisdictional region.
- Remains available 24 hours per day via cell phone for divisional needs and provides adequate replacement coverage when necessary.
- Develops a monthly report to the VP/COO for the review and analysis of operational data to ensure all metrics and performance criteria are met.
- Coordinates procedures and regulations as well as attend meetings with agencies served.
- Participates in development, evaluation, and revision of protocols. Handles personnel functions for staff; Ensures training meets State certification requirements; monitors and evaluates work.
- Provides liaison services between the division, the hospital and other public safety agencies.
- Functions as Inventory Manager for schedule II and IV medications.
- Research technology and implements revised programs and services.
- Responds to complaints, questions, and information about the services.
- Assures the maintenance and completion of records, reports, and other information required in this field. Prepares and submits various reports as required by local, state, and federal governments; oversees filing and maintenance of reports, records, and other documents as required by federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Collaborates with the leaders and Medical Director to ensure compliance with medical protocols and training requirements.
- Attends seminars, conferences, workshops, classes, lectures, etc., and reviews professional literature, as appropriate, to enhance and maintain knowledge of trends and developments in fields of emergency services response.
- Coordinates with HR for recruitment needs and Education to ensure the adequate training programs for new hire and continuing education requirements. Ensures the placement of interns with FTOs and provides for the communication between Operations and Education to enable the successful.
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to emergency services including rescue operations and natural and man-made disaster planning and operations.
- Thorough knowledge of resources available for emergency assistance from local, state, and federal agencies. Thorough knowledge of emergency medical principles, practices, and procedures.
- Monitors Communications Center to ensure response; oversees and ensures optimal deployment and accountability for physical resources.
- Any other duties assigned by senior leadership.

- High School Diploma
- Valid Driver’s License
- State or National Registered Paramedic
Experience
- (3) Three years’ experience in emergency services as an EMT-Paramedic or higher level
- Minimum of (3) three years leadership experience in the private EMS/Medical Transportation Industry
