SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:

An entry level position designed for training and advancement to Trust Officer positions. Administration of assigned accounts (i.e., personal trusts and corporate trusts, guardianships, IRAs, agencies, estate settlement, preneed trusts, special needs trusts, and permanent lot care trusts, etc.) according to procedure and policy of the Division while maintaining the highest standards of service for the client. Ensure that accurate accounting records are maintained. Assist with the completion of discretionary distribution requests, annual administrative reviews, special account reviews, and other functions, as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Under the supervision of management, administer and assist in administering assigned accounts in accordance with terms specified in the governing instrument, applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

2. Under the supervision of management, prepare and present all documentation to open and/or close accounts as required by Fiduciary Committee and company policies and procedures.

3. Ensure that all customer inquiries are responded to accurately and promptly, and that all customer reports, remittances and correspondence are accurate and timely.

4. Completion of administrative reviews, unique asset reviews, review investment reviews and other reports as required..

5. Under the supervision of management, review and analyze trust instruments and other legal documents to determine duties of the Trust Company and to maintain proper compliance with stated issues.

6. Effectively provide documentation and research while maintaining direct communication with attorneys, accountants, clients, beneficiaries, and co-trustees of accounts to establish and promote current accounts and lines of business according to the Trust Company’s guidelines set forth in the policies and procedures while adhering to Fiduciary law standards.

7. Report and present required information and requests to Fiduciary Committee for assigned accounts.

8. Under the supervision of management, compile any necessary data for compliance, audit, or examination responses or for any other internal or external reporting purposes.

9. Conduct business development primarily from existing book of business, but also from centers of influence (attorneys, accountants, etc.), and other contacts and relationships. Refer business, as appropriate, to other areas of the Trust Company and to the Bank.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position requires no supervision of employees.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing – perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound. 4) Specific vision abilities required by this job include viewing a computer monitor, extensive reading.

Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds. This work involves sitting most of the time with walking and sitting.

No travel is required for this position except for training and/or educational purposes.

REQUIRED/ PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree is required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of three (3) years direct or related experience and industry certification (e.g. AWMA, CFP, ChFC, etc.) is required.
