Our client, a state agency, seeks an accomplished Network Administrator / Engineer.

*** Duration: 12 months contract w/ possibility of extension
Notes:
- The position is largely remote, but some onsite work may be needed. If the candidate is not based out of Sacramento, then the client will pay for travel expenses.
Description:
- Design/ architect, assist to procure, configure, install, and maintain network/security equipment such as firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Implementing Network/Security configuration changes.
- Perform hardware tracking, shipping/receiving, and assembly of network equipment.
- Developing, supporting, and maintaining Enterprise Network/Security.
- IP networking, LAN/WAN, routing and switching, and VLAN deployment.
- Also supporting an enterprise environment include, but not limited to, management of Windows 2012 domain controllers, System Management servers, applications servers, DNS, DHCP, etc.; establishing and managing user rights and group accounts, permissions, privileges, profiles, and polices using the Active Directory administrative files and directories; deploying security updates and client software; and providing remote client troubleshooting, and supplement electronic inventory control.
- Will support the Department s Virtual Private Network (VPN).
- Works directly with the department Network staff on all programs and projects dealing with the network infrastructure, database development, sand statewide applications deployment and updates.
- Responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing of wireless solutions.
- Perform configuration, troubleshooting, and support remote/on-site deployment of
- Cisco IOS based switching/routing systems to company standards.
- Perform configuration, assembly, and support remote deployment of Cisco wireless systems.
- Conduct analysis, prepare reports, and work on project implementation.
- Create and maintain support documentation and technical drawings of the enterprise network infrastructure which is stored in SharePoint or network location.
- Evaluate, develop, and deploy network technology products.
- Evaluate, develop, and deploy security enhancements and platforms meeting business and technology requirements.
- Provide technical support and expertise related to the areas of responsibility in this agreement.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Minimum of five years of experience, at Journeyman level designing, and maintaining a high-performance, high-availability enterprise network and security systems.
- Minimum of five years of experience of IP networking, LAN/WAN, routing and switching, and VLAN deployments.
- Minimum of one year of experience working on Cisco ISO systems.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with Cisco Switching.
- Minimum of one year of experience configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting Multicast (IGMP).
- Minimum of one year of experience working with Virtual Route Forwarding (VRF) implementation.
- Must pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check.
- Shall be able to lift equipment up to fifty pounds using the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) approved lifting procedures.
- Shall possess the ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, reach, and squat over a nine-hour period.
